About the Workshop
In this workshop, Dr. Emily Ozer will share her experience conducting community-engaged research in the context of R1 institutions and offer advice on the funding and grantwriting side of her work as a scholar.
Some of the questions that will guide this workshop:
- How do you get funded as a community-engaged scholar?
- How can you engage community partners in the funding process?
- How do you thrive as a community-engaged scholar at an R1 institution?
- What institutional changes are currently underway to better reward or recognize community-engaged scholarship in academia? What changes are scholars still advocating for?
This event is part of the Haas Center's 2021-22 Research as Praxis workshop series. The series is open to all but designed specifically for Stanford graduate students who are interested in learning more about and developing skills in community-engaged scholarship and community-based research. Invited speakers include scholars, leaders, and practitioners across disciplinary fields.
