'Planetary health' is a new field that embraces the inextricable connections between the integrity of our planet's ecosystems and of the health of our human communities. To address these complex links and feedbacks, this new field requires that fundamentals in medicine, epidemiology, and global health be coupled with fundamentals in ecology and social science, which is a lot of interdisciplinary perspectives to embrace at once. These connections are not always taught in  traditional, often siloed, curricula of the various schools and departments.  What will make for effective preparation and education to support planetary health innovators in the future?

Join us in desigining the first mini-course and future curricula that will support a growing interest in this new field of planetary health among the Stanford student body, from the humanities and sciences, through the medical, law, and business schools.
